Happy new year everyone. Last year was a bit quiet on the recording front due to other work. The highlight however was the release of the V8 Vocal Ensemble’sChristmas CD in early December.
2010 looks to be more promising with the inaugural convert for the new Town Hall Organ in March and an NZSO session in July. Also plans are afoot for upgrading the studio acoustics. Watch this space.
Some improvements in the studio during 2009 included the implementation of Sequoia V11.03 on the main audio workstation, introduction of firewire-based laptop recorder based on Samplitude 11.03 via Aurora 16 converters for remote recording work, acquisition of a Toft ATB 16 analogue console for out-of-the-box mixing and in-house tracking, and also acquisition of K+H o300 active monitor speakers specifically for mastering.
